All the concern for Meg. None for Sam or Dean. What a beautiful moment.
It just makes me so sad thinking of how much Castiel cared for Sam and Dean and how poorly they treated him. I mean, honestly, they didn’t care that he threw everything away for them, that he was helping them even while he was in the middle of fighting a war in Heaven and all the while hoping to get help from his Father. And then here’s Meg. Yeah, she prolly has ulterior motives, but even when they wanted something from him, Sam and Dean never took care of Castiel, or watched over Castiel or even really showed all that much concern for his well being the way that Meg has.
You’ve coherently stated my feels for that scene as well, italianqueen! We’re not naive regarding Meg’s ulterior motives, but at least there’s the semblance of concern for Castiel on her part. And in 7x23, Crowley was uneasy- perhaps showing that he has some scruples??- at clobbering Castiel when he Cas was clearly off his game (‘where’s the fun in clobbering a ball of wet fur?’) And, this was the guy who wanted to crush Castiel between his teeth, who had an ax to grind with this one angel?
Demons nobler than Winchesters- who would’ve though, huh? Who needs enemies when you can have friends like the Winchesters.
